GENERAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION

The Association of International Schools of India (TAISI) is organizing a Teachers' and Administrators' Conference from 24th to 26th September 2010 at Lavasa International Convention Centre, Lavasa, near Pune.  We would like to invite you for the above Conference


A pre-conference on ‘CIS/NEASC Accreditation Training’, 'The Common Ground Curriculum'  'CIS US University Counselling Workshop' for Guidance Counsellors and 'Making Assessment Data Work for My School' by Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is scheduled for 23rd September 2010.

We would like to emphasize that membership to TAISI is open to all schools irrespective of the curricula offered. The Teachers' and Administrators' Conference is open to all teachers, Principals, Heads of Departments, Coordinators, Guidance Counsellors, and Administrators. The conference aims at professional development which will be beneficial to all in the field of education. 

The conference details are as follows:
Ø       1 Day Pre-conference charges: Rs. 3,500/- for TAISI member schools (23rd September 2010 only)
                                                                      Rs. 5,000/- for TAISI non-member schools (23rd September 2010 only)

           
Ø       Main Conference Participation charges (inclusive of conference material, stationery, tea/coffee/snacks):
o        Rs.7,500/- per participant for TAISI member schools  
o        Rs.9,000/- per participant for non TAISI member schools
  
Ø       Payment: Demand Draft or bank transfer to 'The Association of International Schools of India - Account No. 908104000012564 with IDBI Bank, under advice to the TAISI Head Office C/o Bangalore International School (address as below).

Rate: Single Room Rs 5000/- per person, per night, (all inclusive – i.e. room rent, all three meals, and taxes are all factored into the price). The only exceptions are liquor and mini bar consumables)

Check-in and Check-out timing and Early Arrivals

- check-in is at 1400hrs

- check-out is at 1200hrs

If guests are likely to check-in prior to 1400 hrs, please inform the hotel as early as possible and they will do their best to accommodate your requirement. The only way to guarantee an early check-in is to reserve the room from the previous night, which would be chargeable at the special group rates, such requests will be honoured only subject to availability. For arrivals before 1000hrs reservations will have to be made from the previous night and hence one additional night’s charges will be applicable.

 

Late Arrival and Early Departure:

Please note that in the event that a guest or a group of guests check-in later than the specified date of check-in or check-out earlier than the date given to hotel a charge will be levied for the number of nights booked and guaranteed.

 

Late Check-out:

The Hotel’s check-out time is 1200hrs. A full night charge will be applicable for any check-out beyond this time. Any guest who intends to extend his/her stay beyond 1200hrs would need to give the hotel 48 hours prior notice.

 

Transportation from Pune airport to Lavasa city will be arranged by the hotel on individual requests.

2) Pre-conference on “The Ground Work Curriculum by Kevin Bartlett & Gordon Eldridge on 23rd September 2010 – International School Belgium

 

3) Pre-conference on “Making Assessment Data Work for My School” – Barry Soraghan, ACER

[Teachers and schools can have access to a wide range of assessment data about their students. This presentation will focus on the interpretation and use of this data to more effectively inform teachers about improvements to their teaching programs and to assist schools in more strategic planning processes, in order to maximise student learning outcomes. The broad scope of the importance of this interpretation and use of data will be outlined, as well as the examination of an effective practical example using the ISA assessment data and reports. Participants will gain from this workshop a clearer understanding of how to more effectively use data to improve their teaching programs].
